The GAEC lab welcomed Prof Patrick Hostert while Sentinel-2b was launched successfully

The GAEC lab welcomed Prof Patrick Hostert the lead of the Geomatics Lab at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany where they use remote sensing to further understand coupled human-environment systems. Professor Hostert joined us for 2 weeks, during which we planned for future research collaborations.

Besides shaping these plans, we enjoyed a lab viewing of the successful Sentinel 2b launch, the latest addition to the European Space Agency’s fleet of earth observing satellites. The Sentinel 2 constellation consists of 2 multispectral satellites, which will produce imagery of the entire global once every 2-5 days. You can read more about the full Sentinel program here.
