Professor Mike Wimberley visits GAEC lab

Professor Mike Wimberley from the Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence, South Dakota State University visits our GAEC lab for 3 weeks on a UNSW Faculty of Science Visiting Research Fellowship won by Mirela and Mark.

Professor Wimberley is an internationally leading scientist in the fields of Landscape Ecology, Spatial Epidemiology, Disturbance Ecology and Ecological Modeling. Besides working with us as a cutting edge international collaborator, he also gave a seminar on forecasting vector-born disease using NASA environmental satellites hosted by The Kirby Institute and The School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Science (BEES) and another seminar on “Modelling Coupled Human and Natural Drivers of Landscape Change” at BEES.
